Ulysses S. Grant
Ulysses S. Grant had a role in the civil war in 1861 to 1865. He was the war general in the second half of the Civil War. He was given all command to the U.S army because of the aggressive and determined leader he was. After the war he became a national hero and the Republican had nominated him as president in 1868. He has worked hard as a president to protect the civil rights to free the black enslaved.
